27 states for Chief E.K Clark wrestling championship

Twenty seven states have indicated interest to participate in the maiden edition of Chief E.K Clark national wrestling championship taking place in Warri, Delta state from 24th to 27th July 2013.

The championship which is being organized by the Delta state wrestling association in conjunction with the wrestling federation of Nigeria will witness contests in various categories in the four-day event aimed at honoring one of South South elder-states men, Chief E.K Clark for his tremendous contributions towards the growth of the sports in the state and the region as a whole.

Speaking with news men in Warri, the national president of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Honorable Daniel Igali who is also the director of organization for the championship commended the Delta state government for the provision of an enabling environment as well as facilities to host wrestlers from across the country. He said he was impressed with the preparations and facilities on ground.

On his part, chair man of the local organizing committee Elder Najite Kuejubola assured the participating teams of a smooth and fun filled championship because the special guest of honor Chief E K Clark who is presently in the United States of America to attend the Jesse Jackson summit.

The four-day wrestling championship will take place at the Brown Hill event centre in Warri with the Executive Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan as the guest of honor.
