FA scribe thumbs up Delta Queens

The tussle to emerge as one of the six teams that will be playing in the qualifier from the six geo- political zones nationwide and represent their respective states in the professional women’s league is almost coming to an end.

In one of the matches witnessed by this reporter at the Oleh Township Stadium in Isoko South during the week, Delta Queens who played home trashed their opponent, Taraba Queens FC 5-0.

In a chat with the secretary general of Delta Football Association, Friday Onotoja, he commended the Delta girls for the ‘clean’ victory, stressing that it will boost their morale to do well in the remaining matches of the season. “We have about two or three matches to go,” he said, adding that “Delta Queens will be selected amongst the teams to play the best from the geo-political zones in the professional women’s league.”

Onotoga who praised both teams for their performance, Onotoja urged the teams to take every match seriously as he commend the chairman of Delta State Football Association,  Amaju Pinnick for his commitment towards the rapid growth of sports in the state.
