State Chairman of the party, Mr. Felix Obuah, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Jerry Needam, wondered why the northern elders would insist that the release of the abducted girls was a condition for President Goodluck Jonathan to run for a second term, noting that the condition sounded as if the Chibok abduction was stage managed to get at President Jonathan and PDP.
While praying for release of the abducted girls, the party advised the northern elders not to play politics with the ugly situation, adding that they should assist government secure the safe release of the girls and overcome the security challenges posed by Boko Haram.
The party said: “The northern elders should stop pretending to be more concerned about the Chibok girls and their families, but should be seen to be making concerted efforts to complement those of the Federal Government in not only getting the detained girls released, but also putting the entire Boko Haram menace to an end.”
