BENIN—CHAIRMAN, House of Representatives Committee on Works, Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, yesterday, warned road contractors in the South-South that contracts that fell below standards would not be compromised.
Ozomgbachi, who led a team of 11 Reps on oversight function on roads in the South-South, gave this warning after inspecting the Benin-Ehor-Lokoja road, Phase 1 after it failed an eco-system test.
He said: “This portion of the road is vital to the Federal Government and any attempt not to execute it as specified in the Bill of Engineering Measurement will lead to stiff sanctions from the House. “
Ozomgbachi summoned the chief engineer to explain why the culvert failed both the horizontal and vertical tests of the eco-machine.
