No rift between Jang and I —Yuguda

By Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, North

BAUCHI—Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has said that there was no rift of any kind between him and his Plateau State counterpart, Jonah Jang.

Yuguda, who spoke to Vanguard, yesterday,   made it clear that both of them were working assiduously to bring about peace and development in the areas.

The governor explained that as a strong supporter and ally of Jang, there was no way he could have turned round to accuse him of any wrongdoing.

The governor said: “I can tell you that there is no rift whatsoever between Governor Jang and I, who also has deep respect and love for me and my administration.

“We shall continue to work for the interest of the two states and Nigeria and shame our detractors. As I have said before, Jang remains my Chairman of the NGF and I cannot recognise anybody else.”

The governor maintained that his return to the NSGF was borne of out his respect for the elders and leaders of the North, who pleaded with him to rescind his earlier decision to withdraw from the body.

“As elders, who I respect so much, I cannot say no to them. They have beckoned on me to reconsider my decision and return to the forum, which works for the interest of the people. That is why I am returning to the NSGF,” he said.
