Two docked for stealing N2.4m property

LAGOS – Two men, Godswill Chukwunyere, 25 and Fred Ine, 50, and others now at large were arraigned, yesterday, before a Lagos Magistrate's Court sitting in Ikeja for allegedly stealing property worth N2.4 million.

The suspects docked before Magistrate A. O. Akinde are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft preferred against them by the police.

The Police prosecutor, Inspector Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants and three others now at large, committed the alleged offence on January 12, 2013 at Impacto Trading Company Ltd, along Km 16, Lekki- Epe expressway, Agungi, Lekki, Lagos.

He said the defendants and three others now at large who are  staff of Men-in-Black Security Company, were sent to mount security at Impacto Trading Company at the aforementioned date and place and that they allegedly stole some Spanish tiles valued at N2.4 million.

The suspects were granted bail in the sum of N300, 000 each with two sureties who must be relatives and one of them to deposit N20,000. The case was adjourned to August 8, 2013 for hearing.
