Lebanese regains freedom, 3 weeks after abduction

BY SIMON  EBEGBULEM
BENIN CITY - The Lebanese attached to the Setraco Construction Compnay, Mr Toni Yosse,  who was kidnapped by gunmen three weeks ago in Benin City, regained his freedom early Thursday.

Vanguard learnt that he was found at Obiaruku in Delta State at about 1 am. It would be recalled that the Lebanese was abducted three weeks ago at Upper Mission after a soldier guarding the expatriate workers was shot dead.

It was learnt that the construction company has been in serious negotiation with the kidnappers with a view to secure the release of their colleague.

The Edo State Police Commissioner, Folunso Adebanjo, could not be reached to confirm the release but Vanguard sighted the Lebanese at the Police Command, yesterday.

There was jubilation at the Setraco office in Benin City yesterday when the kidnapped Lebanese met with his colleagues. The workers had boycotted work since he was abducted and vowed not to resume construction work in the state until he is released
