The summit, tagged," Akwa Ibom Leadership & Economic Summit" is organised by the Akwa Ibom Diaspora Network, AIDN.
In a statement by Chairman, Local Organising committee, Mr. Saturday Jackson,the summit will attract top state and federal government officials, over 200 investors from Germany and other parts of Europe,as well as, Nigerians in Diaspora.
According to Jackson, the choice of the city of Dusseldorf was borne out of the historic relationship and collaboration between German firms and the Niger Delta state, saying, German companies have dominated over 80% of major infrastructural developmental projects in Akwa Ibom state, apart from the involvement of the European giant in companies such as Sunshine Batteries, Abestonic and Champion breweries, to mention a but a few.

"There is also a heavy presence of reputable construction companies from Germany in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria: a Major German company, Julius Berger, is currently playing a significant role in the infrastructural development of Akwa Ibom state. Architectural designs for all the fly-overs and bridges in Uyo are trace to Dusseldorf -Germany, Oylmpic size stadium under construction in Uyo is designed after the Stadium in Dresdern, Germany, and all transformers in the Akwa Ibom state power sector are imported from CLUSTERS, a company based in Dusseldorf- Germany."
Jackson further said the Leadership of AIDN, led by its President, Mr. Clement Ikpatt and the Secretary General, Barr. Uduak Ukpeh, will leave no stone unturned in hosting a successful investment and economic summit next month.
